Morocco is a highly sought-after tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over the globe. So, when asked to discuss ways to relax in Morocco, I thought I’d share a few activities I personally enjoy doing there.

I’ll also share some of the delicious food options, as well as the Agency that organized the tours I went on. I just have to mention them because I have had a wonderful experience, and I thought this might help you if you consider visiting Morocco someday.

Morocco

There is an abundance of sights and activities in Morocco, making it challenging to carve out some time for relaxation. After a day exploring the vibrant and occasionally bustling Moroccan souks, you’ll surely be ready for some peaceful moments. Feel free to unwind and recharge at a Moroccan bathhouse known as a hammam, or simply enjoy a cup of tea on the rooftop terrace of your hotel.

If you’re looking for a way to unwind and destress, why not treat yourself to a peaceful evening at La Pause? Another option is to explore the beautiful city of Essaouria in western Morocco, where you can immerse yourself in its charm and tranquility. Alternatively, you could also consider joining a rejuvenating yoga retreat to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.

Experience the delights of hammam in Morocco.

Going to the hammam, or Turkish bathhouse, in Morocco is not just a great way to unwind; it’s also a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture. You can find public bathhouses, also known as hammams, in almost every town in Morocco. Going to a hammam can be quite a soothing experience if you have an idea of what to expect. It’s a good idea to pack your usual bathing essentials, like shampoo and soap, when visiting a hammam. Don’t forget to bring an extra pair of underpants, too.

Once you step into a hammam, you’ll need to leave your clothes and towel in a dressing room before making your way into the steamy bathing rooms. People gather on the floor to bathe, carefully blending buckets of hot and cold water to achieve the ideal temperature. If you decide to go for a head-to-toe scrubdown with a Hammam attendant, brace yourself for an intense experience.

Relax with a refreshing cup of mint tea on a rooftop terrace.

If you’ve had a tiring day exploring the bustling markets and taking in the sights of the city, take a break at a rooftop tearoom or your hotel’s terrace. Plenty of hotels and restaurants in Morocco offer roof terraces where you can relax and savor a delightful cup of tea. The rooftop terrace is a great spot to connect with fellow travelers or simply soak in the breathtaking sunset and the vibrant cityscape below.

Experience the relaxed atmosphere of Essaouira

Situated on the Atlantic Coast of western Morocco, Essaouira is a charming beach town that attracts a vibrant community of free-spirited travelers. If you’re seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of Morocco’s imperial cities, you’ll find Essaouria’s relaxed pace to be a welcome change. Indulge in a relaxed cup of coffee or tea at one of the village’s many charming cafes, explore the diverse art galleries and handicraft shops, and take a leisurely walk along the expansive sandy beaches.

With its constant strong winds, Essaourira is an ideal destination for windsurfing and kiteboarding enthusiasts throughout the year. However, those who prefer a more relaxed beach experience can find solace in the calm pools of the nearby resorts.

Experience an Evening at La Pause

Situated on the outskirts of the Agafay Desert, La Pause offers a tranquil getaway a mere 30km away from the vibrant energy of Marrakech. Experience the perfect blend of comfort and elegance at our resort, nestled in a serene desert oasis. Indulge in exquisite Moroccan cuisine on the resort’s numerous terraces, offering breathtaking views of the picturesque countryside.

After that, find comfort in a beautiful space with warm candlelight lighting. Guests have the option to experience sunset camel rides, go horseback riding, or simply relax in the hammocks scattered around the olive groves.

Discover a Yoga Retreat

With the rise of numerous retreats, Morocco is becoming a popular destination for yoga enthusiasts. Indulge in a range of yoga experiences, from a single-day session to a rejuvenating weeklong retreat. Treat yourself to soothing massages, peaceful meditation, and nourishing meals.

Yoga retreats can be found in various locations, ranging from smaller towns like Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki to bigger cities like Marrakech and Fes. Additionally, there are options to combine yoga retreats with surfing lessons in Taghazout.
Moroccan cuisine is quite enjoyable and soothing.
